Helping Survivors
Find Their Way Forward
Freebird empowers survivors of domestic violence through advocacy,
education, resources, and a community that believes healing is possible.
We help survivors rebuild their lives and their futures through career
development, financial education, mentoring, and opportunities that
create independence, confidence, and lasting stability.
Because domestic violence affects more than one person, we also
serve the children, families, and veterans whose lives have been
impacted. Recovery doesn't happen alone-and neither does rebuilding.
Join us in making a difference. Choose how you'd like to take action today!

Why We Exist
Freebird began with two women whose lives unexpectedly crossed years before they ever imagined building this mission together.
One experienced the justice system during one of the most difficult chapters of her life.
The other spent decades serving within that same system, helping individuals and families navigat some of life's greatest challenges.
Years later, they met again and discovered their paths had crossed long before either of them realized it.
Together, they understood something that would become the foundation of Freebird:
Healing begins when lived experience and compassion come together with action.
Today, Freebird exists to help survivors of domestic violence move beyond crisis by providing advocacy, education, career opportunities, mentoring, and a community that believes every person deserves the opportunity to recover, rebuild, and rise.

Why Freebird Exists
Freebird wasn’t founded because two women shared the same past. It was founded because they brought two different perspectives to the same mission.
One understood what it felt like to need help.
The other understood how the system worked.
Together, we believed survivors deserved both.
Freebird exists to transform lived experience into action by helping survivors of domestic violence find safety, rebuild their confidence, achieve financial independence, and discover purpose beyond survival.
We believe healing is only the beginning.
Through advocacy, mentoring, education, career development, community partnerships, and opportunities for economic independence, we help survivors build lives where they are no longer defined by abuse or dependent on those who harmed them.
Our mission is not simply to help people leave abusive situations. It is to help them build lives filled with hope, dignity, purpose, and the freedom to help someone else rise.
